Status: resolved by repair.

Our washing machine started acting erratically nearly two weeks ago. This morning I washed a lot of clothes. I enjoyed the process of diagnosing the problems, and talking through the saga with some friends here (and my FiL). Thanks, volunteer appliance repair investigators!

Weekend before Thanksgiving, the workshed burned to the ground. We're all fine, it was built far enough from the house that it was all contained.

My daughter has a slowly-changing playlist, mostly classic kid songs, some novelty kids songs (Lisa Loeb's Silly Songs surprisingly resilient, that we mostly listen to in the car. And somehow Little Richard's "Tutti Frutti" and Toto's "Africa" are the two 'real' hits... wearing on me now in repetition.

Life and Covid inside.

Finally kicked the heat on this week, hard to believe the last time I wrote here we'd just bought this house. But as always, I've been lurking.

This year, we had a baby girl. Plans change.

Popping in to reintroduce my fingers to the habits of sharing and writing, we are on a seven week trip to various parts of Mexico centered around S' academic research, writing and colleagues. Or focused on enjoying central/southern Mexico, depending what time it is. Here's the first week!

It's a good morning to be listenting to Deadmau5. I'm in a thread-following mood, best to stay away from wikipedia... one of my all-time favorite festival shows was him closing Lolla 2011 in torrential mud. And I haven't read the Ray Bradbury short story behind that linked track, but added it to the library list.

Nothing traumatic to report personally, love to everyone going through hard times here.
